Dr.Zacharias Kariyilakulam OCM, a member of the Malabar Province of the Discalced Carmeliters, was born in 1954 at Chengalam i Kottayam St. After joining the Carmelite order, he did his philosophy in Trivandurm and Theology in Rome. He was ordained priest in 1983. He had his post-graduate studies in philosophy and took doctorate in 1988. After coming back to India, he served the Province in Various offices. Since then he has published various books and articles on various topics. At present he is the prior and Rector of Carmel Hill Monastery, Trivandrum, Kerala.
